Manage permissions and project access

Admin & Setup

Access in ProjectSight is controlled by security roles. These roles determine what users can see and do across the project.

🔐

Security roles control access

Your role determines access to modules such as RFIs, Drawings, and Submittals. Some users may have view-only access, while others can create and edit records.

⚠️

Can't see or edit certain records?

This usually means your role does not include access to that module or action. Contact your project administrator and specify what you are trying to access.

🏗

Add subcontractors and project users

Subcontractors can be invited as project users with limited access. For example, they may be able to view drawings and respond to RFIs, but not access financial or administrative data.

Invite new users

Your project administrator can invite users by entering their email address and assigning a security role. The user will receive an email to set up or link their Trimble ID.

Request permission changes

You cannot change your own permissions. Contact your project or portfolio administrator with details of the access you need, and they can update your role.
