Core workflows
RFIs (Requests for Information) help you track questions, clarifications, and decisions throughout your project. They ensure nothing gets lost and everything is documented.
| Typical use: Raise an RFI when something in your drawings or specifications is unclear and needs clarification from another party. |
Step 1. Create an RFI Go to the RFIs module and create a new RFI. Add a clear subject and description outlining the issue or question. |
Step 2. Assign responsibility Assign the RFI to the appropriate person or team responsible for providing a response. |
Step 3. Link to drawings (optional) Link the RFI to a drawing or supporting documents to provide context and make it easier for others to understand the issue. |
Step 4. Track status and responses Monitor the RFI status as it progresses. Responses are recorded so you have a clear history of decisions. |
Step 5. Close the RFI Once resolved, mark the RFI as closed so your team knows the issue has been addressed. |
| Common mistake: Leaving RFIs open without assigning responsibility or due dates can delay responses and impact project timelines. |
