Create and track RFIs

Core workflows

RFIs (Requests for Information) help you track questions, clarifications, and decisions throughout your project. They ensure nothing gets lost and everything is documented.

Typical use: Raise an RFI when something in your drawings or specifications is unclear and needs clarification from another party.
📝

Step 1. Create an RFI

Go to the RFIs module and create a new RFI. Add a clear subject and description outlining the issue or question.

👤

Step 2. Assign responsibility

Assign the RFI to the appropriate person or team responsible for providing a response.

📎

Step 3. Link to drawings (optional)

Link the RFI to a drawing or supporting documents to provide context and make it easier for others to understand the issue.

📊

Step 4. Track status and responses

Monitor the RFI status as it progresses. Responses are recorded so you have a clear history of decisions.

Step 5. Close the RFI

Once resolved, mark the RFI as closed so your team knows the issue has been addressed.

Common mistake: Leaving RFIs open without assigning responsibility or due dates can delay responses and impact project timelines.
